HOW IS IT AUGUST ALREADY!? Anyway, this month I’m sitting my N.E.W.Ts for The Magical Readathon and I’m gonna be busy!
If you don’t know the Magical Readathon, I highly recommend you check it out because it’s pretty amazing! It’s run by G from the booktube channel Book Roast and she’s put so much work into it! There are letters, career leaflets, house points! All sorts of things. The only thing is you do have to have sat your O.W.Ls before you can pass your N.E.W.Ts but if you want to see what it’s all about so you can take part next time (or sit your O.W.Ls now maybe?) So, in April I sat my O.W.Ls for the first round of the readathon and I chose the career of Curse Breaker. I’m pleased to announce I passed all my exams so I can carry all my subjects over to N.E.W.T level. I’ve added a page at the top of my blog where you can see my O.W.L results and I’ll also be updating with my N.E.W.T results, as I pass them.
For my chosen career I need to achieve the following grades:
- O in Ancient Runes
- O in Arithmancy
- E in Defence Against The Dark Arts
- A in Charms
However, as I am a perfectionist, I’m going to be aiming for an O grade in all four! I’m pretty excited about my planned reads so hopefully this shouldn’t change but…you know me…it could change 1000 times!

Arithmancy

Defence Against The Dark Arts

O: Cornish pixie! Swat it away with a book written by an English author or set in England – The Unadjusteds
Charms

If I have another month like last month, I may try and complete some of these extra credit prompts. They’re not required, but they’re available as I have my O.W.L in these subjects. I don’t have anything picked for these, so they’re just kind of open for a bit of mood reading if the opportunity arises!
